Mark Mikolavich Architect

New opportunities to know the “why” of things are what get Mark out of bed in the morning. This drive for causal understanding has led to keen problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively and comprehensively about project goals, meaning Mark often finds unexpected opportunities within the design solution. He’s happiest when the design team, client, and other stakeholders are actively collaborating and feeding off of each other’s energy as the project takes shape.

Mark recently traveled throughout Europe, soaking up all of the incredible architecture and getting in touch with his Croatian roots. He draws inspiration from good books – his favorites are The Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver – and hiking in exceptional places. Mark counts the Marble Mountain Wilderness in Northern California as one such place.
