It has been said that architecture is like frozen music. If so, Steve is our lead conductor as he orchestrates unity between site characteristics, materials, finishes, and function to result in exceptionally crafted buildings and environments. Steve enjoys sketching and drawing, the act of first pulling a project’s form from the ether and giving it shape. To see the concepts evolve into developed drawings and progress to constructed spaces is a process that thrills Steve.
Steve can be found purveying farmer's markets around Portland, and his love of fresh, local food carries through one of his favorite books, The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. He holds a tremendous appreciation for nature – particularly trees and forests – and likes spending time in museums, on soccer fields, and taking in the landscape of NW wineries.
